Wagyu around the World - Sweden
iWagyu is building a pure Wagyu herd and supplies Wagyu beef to restaurants and retailers throughout
Sweden. Anders Larson purchased Värmvik Säteri in Västervik and three years later Wagyu were introduced. Embryos from USA were implanted and 43 pure Wagyu had been born in 2008 and 2009. Sires are predominantly from Fukutsuru 068, TF604, Michifuku and Sanjirou.
Dressed weights were between 420 and 480 kilograms but the first heifer that was slaughtered was substantially lighter. Beef is sold fresh or vacuum packed and graded as Classic, Signature or Reserve according to marbling, tenderness and flavour.
Värmviks Äteri is a kitchen/dining room facility on the manor for hosting iWagyu cooking demonstrations.
